Chiffchaff,14th March.
I only called in at Marston because Trev Lee had heard a little owl calling earlier on.I’ve never seen or heard one here before so went for a look.I still need it ! Standing at the back of the works,I then heard ‘chiff-chaff-chiff-chaff’,what a joy.I located it and it started calling strongly,occasionally singing.
Ironically I then saw a treecreeper-Trev’s bogey bird at Marston.Also 4 goldcrests,50+ pied wagtails and a sparrowhawk.
Found a good few owl pellets beneath some thick scrub,I’ll be keeping an eye on that.

Very good Dave, I had a Chiffchaff there yesterday, only calling tho , very close to the farmhouse over the river, One thing I didn’t mention yesterday I had a Harrier Sp at long range beyond the farmhouse being mobbed by a crow.
And i’ve told you before there are no Treecreepers at Marston ! in 27 Years of watching the place I’ve not had a sniff of one ! LOL
