Nice sunny day so I went for a quick hour or so to Blackmore Farm. As soon as I got out of the car I noticed that the track I had often walked on when Dragonfly hunting was now forbidden to me:
I saw this individual a little later from the hide:
Then from a distance I saw a male Merlin flying fast along a hedgerow and eventually landing in a tree 450 metres away. unfortunately my photograph was spoiled by a rare phenomena (for the UK) HEAT HAZE!
When I finally got home I decided to relax in the sun for a while when Mr Siskin visited me:
With his dear Lady:
This is the first time I managed to photograph them without a dirty window in between us – they were only 3 metres away so I got the shots without hiding and with a glass of red in the other hand!

Accipiter unfortunately …..
