During a look around Startops reservoir on one of our many family visits to Tring, Herts. I noticed a strange looking coot. It was still there when I checked again, yesterday. This time I had the camera, though it wouldn’t come anywhere close to the bank.
The bird showed much white flecking around the head, neck and chest, also the white frontal shield appeared larger than on the other coots. I found it very interesting.
