More Starlings

I took Sharon for another look at the starling roost at Langford, can’t get enough of this phenomenon. It seems to be slightly different each time- today they roosted in a different reedbed and didn’t all go down together. There wasn’t much murmuration and shape forming this time, but I reckon we’ve been under-estimating the quantities. If anyone wants something to do while coronation street  is on, try counting the flock in the pic below, (gotta be more point to the latter). This was only part of the total, loads had been pouring in already. I’m thinking the total is more like 20k.

Prior to the main event we called into the nursery café again for some more cakeage. Hey, that was probably the main event.

Walking back to the car park a barn owl ghosted out of the duskiness.
