The red kite numbers are starting to build at Stainby rubbish tip.There were seven last weds and at least twelve today. Wonderful to see, my all time record was twenty-one in the air together, a couple of years back. Will keep you posted. Also seen were a couple of buzzards, a raven (seen on most visits here now), and a sparrowhawk. A few redwings and lots of fieldfares were in the surrounding hedges, late afternoon a good flock of about 250 fieldfares got together.

Getting easier to find them around here and I have seen them moving further north as I have been going up and down the A1. Plenty seen round Wetherby and as far as Thirsk.
