After walking the dog at Marston this morning I found a male merlin on the way home along Station rd, Barkston. Perched in a tree beside the road, I drove right under it! it flew to another tree and I was able to watch it for ages.
On the 5th of November I had an all to brief glimpse of what I was pretty sure was a male merlin at Marston, (poss same bird) so this bird may be hanging about in the area.
Merlin is my lucky bird at the mo, having seen one at Frampton and one at Cut end on Mon, ( they are more expected at the coast), I had another at Langford Lowfields on Tues.
There were a pair of stonechats at Marston. Tried my new camera and got this digiscoped stonechat shot.

Very nice Dave, I love Merlins, they are very handsome birds.
The Stonechat shot is awesome for a digiscope, you must be very pleased with it!
