I decided to have a walk around Woodland Waters for a couple of hours this morning, not been here for a while. I was hoping to see if Marsh Tit could be seen and maybe photographed, sadly this was not the case but it was still a nice wander around.
Walking around all the lakes I saw lots of young birds, Great Crested Grebe, Mallard, Moorhen, Coot, Chaffinch, Swan, Canada Goose, Greylag Goose, Blackbird, Robin and Wren. I heard a few warblers; Chiffchaff, Willow Warbler and Blackcap but only got to see Blackcaps in one area near the private lake, there were two males in close proximity to each other and singing their hearts out in a battle that you could call ‘Blackcaps got talent’! Wrens were all over belting out their loud song too.
It turned out to be a ‘Goose Fest’ as it can do when visiting here.
A nice bonus was seeing the two Egyptian Geese that were on the bank of the main lake as I walked past.
