Mandarins at Belton.

Following a report of one on the Witham on Saturday, I had a look on Sunday and found a drake, seemingly paired up with the leucistic bird that was on the river in Grantham about a year ago. It was seen with a drake around that time, presumably the same bird.Today I called back and found four mandarins, 2 drakes, a female and the white one. There has often been the odd mandarin in the area from time to time but Iv’e never seen four of them. I didn’t see any rings on the legs.

Well this photo wouldn’t win any prizes but I was pleased to get all four mandarins in one shot, Oh, and the little egret decided to photo-bomb the picture!
