Western swamphen, Alkborough flats.
Well, I got to see it in the end! After no sign the previous day, local birder Clare Gillatt was alone in the hide early morning and it appeared back where it was previously. Arrived to find lots of birders with more turning up through the day. Great views of it out in the open, though a little distant, it was observed breaking down reedstems. As I was leaving three wildfowlers turned up and made their way down to the river, passing the large group of assembled twitchers and photographers. Bet they were popular!
Pending acceptance that will be my 219th Lincs bird this year (BOU).
