Today 29th Dec 2016, at Denton res., I refound the nasal-tagged tufted duck that I saw here on 10th Dec 2013. It was the same bird, marked A4j, tagged in France in 2009 and seen several times at Rutland and around the wash prior to my first sighting and then at Frampton. It was sticking very close to a group of two other females and three drakes (untagged), well apart from the majority of tufties on the Res. I’m thinking that perhaps this group travelled together.
